Four years of viewing the cosmos like never before. July 12 marks NASAWebb’s fourth science anniversary! To celebrate, Webb gave us this photo: a clearer, more detailed view of Centaurus A than ever before. Centaurus A is a galaxy located 11 million light-years away from Earth. It is highly active and cloaked in a thick layer of cosmic dust. In the past, space telescopes couldn’t get a clear view of the galaxy’s heart. However, Webb’s sharp vision is able to cut through the blanket dust to reveal individual stars and structures to researchers on the ground. #NASA #JWST #Anniversary
