So to my friends hitting in these clips... your eyes were correct😂 I’ve had a few people comment on some of my videos before saying that framing is cheating. Today I was filming content and ended up going down a rabbit hole looking at MLB catcher videos and I saw the same argument everywhere. So here’s my take: Receiving and framing is a fundamental skill of the catching position. It’s been part of the game forever. It’s not something catchers just recently started doing, it’s something that has always existed, but the way we analyze it now has gotten a lot more advanced. At the MLB level, teams literally track pitch framing because of how valuable it is. There was a study done that elite catchers can save their team around 10-20 runs in a season just through framing borderline pitches. That’s a big deal!! To p...
