Elephants are among the most socially intelligent mammals and can form positive associations with humans who behave calmly and non threateningly. Research shows they recognize individual human voices, remember past interactions, and distinguish between people who pose danger and those who do not. These abilities allow elephants to develop trust and display affiliative behaviors toward familiar humans. Although there is no evidence they perceive humans as cute in the human sense, neuroscience suggests their advanced social cognition supports positive emotional responses to kind people.
