When someone is trying to sell a false narrative, they often need you to doubt yourself before you'll believe them. So rather than debating the idea, they attack your identity to create uncertainty and steer the conversation in their favor.
Healthy people challenge ideas. Manipulative people attack people.
Know the difference, trust your judgment, and don't let anyone make you question your values just because they can't defend their own.
