A college student may have built one of the fastest RC jets ever created... right from his dorm room. ✈️ The aircraft, named Reaper, was developed by aerospace enthusiast Tomas Salvo using a lightweight 5 kg carbon-fiber airframe paired with a 250 N turbojet engine. Based on Salvo's testing, the jet is capable of reaching speeds of around 500 mph, putting it in the conversation for the fastest radio-controlled aircraft ever made. What makes the project even more impressive is where it came to life. Rather than working in a professional aerospace lab, Salvo designed the molds, fabricated the carbon-fiber parts, and completed the composite construction himself while living in a college dorm.
