Booker T has weighed in on Sheamus leaving WWE, and he pushed back on the fan reaction. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the two-time Hall of Famer questioned the idea of a "lifer" in wrestling. "You hear the term 'lifer,' 'I thought he was gonna be a lifer,' what the hell does that really mean when you work in a job?" Booker said. "Does anybody expect any basketball player to stay on the team forever?" Booker called Sheamus's nearly 20 years in WWE something people don't understand how extraordinary it is, and defended WWE against criticism that follows departures, saying, "That happens in any corporation." Booker said he already addressed his own future with WWE management, telling them, "I know it's a young man's game, I know my time could be coming up, and if it is just let me know, there ain't gonna be no hard feelings."
