MJF has responded to the Sheamus news. Shortly after Fightful Select reported that Sheamus is set to leave WWE after turning down a contract extension, the AEW World Champion posted a screenshot of their 2022 social media exchange on his Instagram story with the caption, "Bring that smoke, O'Shaunessy." The resurfaced exchange dates back to September 2022, when MJF told Sheamus, "You can rock 6 inch lifts and play top guy, but you've been handed the ball multiple times and fell," adding that it took Sheamus a decade to get over and, "Took me 1 day." Sheamus's side of the exchange has since been deleted.
