Somewhere along the way, a lot of students decide they’re “just not a math person.”
Ms. Alexandra Bracht isn’t interested in letting that story stick.
Her students described a classroom where questions are welcomed, mistakes are expected, and learning doesn’t stop because something is difficult. If an explanation doesn’t click, she’ll find another way. And another. She stays with it until her students do, too.
One student summed it up in the simplest way possible: “She actually makes math make sense.”
That’s a gift. Not because math suddenly becomes easy, but because students leave believing challenging work is worth sticking with.
We’re grateful to honoredschools and cfpextrayard for helping us recognize educators like Ms. Bracht, whose steady commitment is opening doors for students every single day.
Congratulations, Ms. Bracht, and thank you for helping students discover they’re capable of more than they imagined. 💙
