July marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and we are highlighting that throughout the month with printing in red, white, and blue ink. In this video, Jared letterpress printed “AMERICA 250” and it was typeset in 15 line pica French Clarendon font. This wood type was made in the late 1880s by the Hamilton Wood Type Company. This was printed with red, white, and blue rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was manufactured in 1852. #SacHistoryMuseum #america250 #printing #learnontiktok #museum
