If you’re planning a trip to Italy, please do yourself a favor and make time for Sicily. Honestly, we could’ve spent our entire vacation there and still had so much left to explore. We stayed in Palermo and took a few easy day trips to nearby beach towns, and getting around was much easier than we expected. Between the crystal-clear water, perfect weather, warm breeze off the coast, boat days, snorkeling, and afternoons spent relaxing by the sea, it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of our trip. The food deserves its own paragraph. Fresh seafood, incredible pasta, amazing local wine… every meal somehow topped the last. We ate and drank our way across the island, walked everywhere, and somehow never felt sluggish…just happy. Some of our favorite memories from the entire trip happened in Sicily, and leaving honestly felt way too soon. If you ever get the chance to visit, don’t just make it a quick stop.
