If you’re heading to the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday, here’s an important update.
Because of the dangerous heat, officials have delayed public access to the Esplanade until 4 p.m., instead of the originally planned noon opening. The rest of the schedule remains the same.
The concert begins at 7 p.m., followed by a first-ever Revolutionary-themed drone show at 9 p.m. and the annual fireworks display at 9:15 p.m.
To help people get home, MBTA buses, subways and ferries will be free after 8:30 p.m.
If you were planning to camp out early for a spot, you’ll want to adjust your plans. Stay hydrated, dress for the heat and plan accordingly.
