Boston is about to experience its hottest weather in years. An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued for Wednesday through Saturday, with temperatures potentially reaching 100°F and heat index values climbing as high as 115°F later this week. Forecasters say Thursday and Friday will likely be the hottest days, with a chance of breaking daily temperature records across parts of Massachusetts. If you’re spending the holiday week outdoors, stay hydrated, avoid prolonged time in the sun during the hottest part of the day, and check in on friends, family and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the extreme heat.
