Scotland’s World Cup fans have officially taken over Boston. According to Boston Beer Co., supporters drank so much beer over the weekend that the Sam Adams Boston Taproom ran out of Boston Lager and had to schedule an emergency delivery. The company says Scotland fans consumed roughly four times the amount of beer it would normally sell during a busy four-day holiday weekend. Other local bars reported similar scenes as thousands of Scotland supporters flooded the city for the country’s first World Cup appearance in 28 years. “We’ve been here for over 30 years, and we’ve never seen anything like it,” Noelle Somers, chief operating officer of Hennessy’s Bar, told The Boston Globe. Looks like we might have to up our game, folks. Media via fenwaypark redsox #mustdoboston #bostonbars #bostonworldcup
