Boston apparently decided spring was optional.
An early burst of summer-like heat is hitting the city this week, with temperatures climbing into the 90s and officials warning people not to underestimate the sudden jump.
Doctors say early-season heat can hit harder because people are still adjusted to colder weather and often forget basic precautions like staying hydrated and taking breaks from the sun.
The city has already opened multiple spray deck locations to help people cool off, though some families were already discovering not every splash spot was up and running.
Experts also note that kids can be especially vulnerable in heat because they warm up faster and can overheat more easily.
Translation: drink water, check on people, and suddenly everyone in Boston is pretending they’ve been waiting for patio season all year.
