Boston is about to get a very large reminder that the World Cup is coming.
Massport is bringing a 45-foot soccer ball to Piers Park II in East Boston from June 12–18 in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest soccer ball. The current record holder, set in Qatar, measures just under 40 feet.
The installation is part of Boston’s World Cup celebrations, with a community event planned for June 13 and waterfront views included for free.
By the way, we have a weekly newsletter with what’s worth knowing about and doing in Boston. One newsletter. Once a week. Link in bio.
