One of Greater Boston’s most beloved traditions is officially back this weekend.
Somerville Porchfest returns Saturday, May 9, transforming porches, stoops, sidewalks, and front yards across the city into live music stages for more than 530 bands and performers.
The free, city-wide event runs from 12pm–6pm with performances staggered across three geographic zones to help people move throughout the city:
West Zone: 12–2pm
Central Zone: 2–4pm
East Zone: 4–6pm
Officials expect tens of thousands of people to attend this year, making it one of the largest Porchfest events in the country.
The festival is completely free and designed to be explored on foot, by bike, or through public transit, with organizers strongly discouraging driving because of the crowds.
By the way, we have a weekly newsletter with what’s worth knowing about and doing in Boston. One newsletter. Once a week. Link in bio.
