The World Cup is coming, but even getting there is proving a little tricky. Fans trying to buy $80 round-trip train tickets to Gillette Stadium for World Cup matches ran straight into errors the moment they went on sale. The MBTA app required users to verify their email tied to their match tickets… but many kept getting hit with “Registration Failed” messages and couldn’t complete their purchase. These tickets are roughly 4x more expensive than typical event trains, with the MBTA trying to recoup major infrastructure costs ahead of the tournament. The issue was eventually fixed, and thousands of tickets have already been sold. All good, but naturally, people weren't super patient about the process.
