Let’s grab some Dunkin’ to celebrate.
A new nationwide ranking placed Massachusetts second overall on the Fittest States Index, scoring 8.73 out of 10 across 10 health factors.
Here’s the details:
• 68.1% of residents get at least 150 minutes of aerobic exercise per week, the highest rate in the country
• Adult obesity sits at 27%, well below the national average of 34%
• Just 11.7% of residents smoke, one of the lowest rates nationwide
Only Vermont ranked higher overall.
Translation: between walkable neighborhoods, gym access, and outdoor culture, Massachusetts is literally and figuratively making moves.
