Southie’s St Patrick’s Day Parade is flipping the script this year.
The 2026 parade, happening Sunday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m., will run in reverse compared to recent decades. Instead of ending at Andrew Square, it will start there and move toward A Street and West Broadway.
The updated route also shifts from East 5th to East 6th Street and includes a pause at Medal of Honor Park for a wreath-laying ceremony.
According to organizers, the change is a nod to the 250th anniversary of American independence, mirroring the historic route used by Henry Knox to transport cannons to fortify Dorchester Heights.
There will also be a designated family-friendly zone near Medal of Honor Park featuring a Touch a Truck event.
