Boston is officially in its luxury era.
The Mandarin Oriental, Boston was just ranked the No. 5 best hotel in the United States by U.S. News & World Report, after analysts reviewed more than 30,000 hotels across the U.S., Europe, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean.
The rankings are based on a mix of expert awards, guest reviews and hotel class ratings, with accolades from AAA Five Diamond, Forbes Five Star, Condé Nast Readers’ Choice and Travel + Leisure all factored into the score.
The Back Bay property is already No. 1 in Boston and No. 1 in Massachusetts, and critics consistently praise its blend of classic New England elegance with contemporary Asian design, oversized soaking tubs, museum-quality art and a spa that regularly makes “best of” lists.
It may not have skyline pool views, but reviewers say the service, fireplace lobby and polished, modern feel make it one of the most special stays in the city.
