Having an older sister who was a Kappa made recruitment feel familiar, but I still wanted my rush experience to be completely my own, and to find a place that truly saw me for me and not just as a little sister. Being an out-of-state girl as well, rush can feel overwhelming and like a huge leap out of your comfort zone. Now, looking back, I wish I could tell my past self not to worry! From the moment I ran home on Bid Day, I was welcomed with open arms and quickly realized I was being seen for who I am. The friendships came so naturally and truly made Alabama feel just like home. Kappa has given me so much more than a sorority. It has given me confidence, encouraged me to become more involved, and blessed me with lifelong friendships and memories I’ll always cherish.
