After a steady drum beat of scandals, Platner’s high-stakes bid for an elusive GOP-held seat in the Pine Tree State imploded this week, after a woman he dated years ago publicly accused him of sexual assault – an allegation he denies. "I just want to make it clear: This is all false. The things that have been claimed did not happen. It's not real," Platner said.
