Biggest mistake I see people make: Getting a breed based on looks or what they’ve seen in movies and not based on lifestyle. There’s a ton of working breeds (huskies, shepherds, bordier collies) that look incredible when you’re scrolling Instagram but are not built for the average family who takes a casual stroll around the neighborhood once a day. They’re built for work. Not surburbia. when you’re itching to get a pup, have a goal in mind for your life with your dog before you start looking at breeds. Let the vision for how active you want to be with them, where you want to take them/socialize them, and how you plan to spend time with them dictate the breed. Not the other way around.
