Letterpress printing thank you prints with blue rubber base ink. This ink is a mix of reflex blue and opaque white ink. The “THANK YOU!” was typeset in 60 point Balloon font. The image of a shouting man is from an electrotype made in the 1930s. The cut is from the Bill Gaylord Collection. One hundred copies were printed in this press run using a 3x5 Kelsey Excelsior tabletop printing press. Why was Channey making thank you prints? We here at the Sacramento History Museum have a lot to be thankful for, especially those who purchased prints this past month, which was the most prints we’ve sold in a month since we started making prints available in our museum store and website. These prints accompany our online orders. #thankyou #SacHistoryMuseum #museum #printing #printmaking
