Bad news for Southern California mountain lions: A rock mine expansion threatens to squeeze one of their vital wildlife corridors to just 800 feet wide, further isolating an already vulnerable puma population. Condensing this already-narrow pinch point would significantly block and deter animal movement to and from the Santa Monica Mountains.
