I started growing my hair eight years ago this summer. July 2018 when I quit my last Social Media Manager job. I cut my hair FOR that job and ended up quitting 3 months later. After that, I decided I was gonna go for it. I was going to put myself out there, build a brand, let my hair grow , be myself and people would have to accept me for me. I used to cut my hair to look “corporate” to look “clean cut” or at least what I thought was the “right” appearance for business or being in an office. I had no idea what my hair would look like this far in the future. I wasn’t planning on having locs. The pandemic did that. Barbershops closed and I stopped combing out my fro. My hair locked up.
