Absolutely loved speaking at Harvard about my new book MORAL AMBITION to a room full of bright, idealistic students. So much energy, so many smart young minds who are eager to take on the world’s most pressing problems.
But let’s be honest: we’ve got a culture to change. Right now, more than 40% of Harvard grads disappear into what my friend simonvanteutem calls ‘the Bermuda Triangle of Talent’ — consultancy, finance, corporate law. Great for PowerPoint, less great for humanity.
Meanwhile, the world is on fire. Democracy is unraveling in the US. We need the best minds not optimizing spreadsheets — but fighting injustice, poverty, and climate collapse. Harvard should be a launchpad for moral ambition — and yesterday, it felt like the rocket was on the launchpad 🚀
