Spain recently approved an $8bn plan that will triple government investment in public housing over the next four years – to tackle a serious crisis that has left many Spaniards locked out of buying, or even renting a home. The housing crisis has been fueled by immigration, record tourism and short-term lets like AirBnB. For the first time ever Spain may welcome more than 100 million visitors this year – bringing employment and boosting GDP, but leaving some scrabbling for places in mobile homes. CGTN’s Ken Browne visited Mallorca to see how the island’s so-called ‘Caravanistas’ live. #housing #spain #caravanista
