The #Canadiens 🇨🇦 have hired Derek Lalonde 🇺🇸 as an assistant coach after Trevor Letowski has stepped away to spend more time with family. Lalonde, 53, spent the past season as an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) 🇨🇦, and previously was an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL) 🇺🇸 from 2018-2022, and head coach with the Detroit Red Wings (NHL) 🇺🇸 from 2022-2025.
