This week is Women and Girls' Round! Women and Girls' Round is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the contribution that women and girls make to our game and our league, while inspiring the next generation to see that there is a place for them in football - whether that's on the field, on the sidelines, or behind the scenes. Across the SMJFL, women and girls play a vital role in our league as players, umpires, coaches, volunteers, administrators, photographers, team managers and leaders. We’ve already been making history in 2026, opening the season with a blockbuster girls’ game under the lights at RSEA Park on a Friday night. This game showcased the exciting future of girls football in the SMJFL, with the St Peters/Cheltenham girls holding on for a thrilling one-point victory over Murrumbeena.
