Nebraska junior Mac Moyer signed an undrafted free agent contract with the San Diego Padres organization on Tuesday. Moyer becomes the fourth Husker from this year’s team to continue with a Major League Baseball organization after Ty Horn and Carson Jasa were selected in the third round of the MLB Draft and Dylan Carey signed a free agent contract on Monday. The junior is following in the footsteps of his father, Jamie Moyer, who carved out an incredible 25-year MLB career, won 269 games, and became one of baseball’s most respected pitchers. The center fielder earned second-team All-Big Ten honors and was selected to the Big Ten’s All-Defensive Team after tying a single-season school record with a 1.000 fielding percentage in 2026. Moyer appeared in 60 games, making 57 starts in center field in his lone season with the Huskers.
