He reportedly said something along the lines of, “Maybe they did, maybe they didn’t. Stranger things have happened.” He even joked that someone could want him dead so Jake could become champion. Jake agreed, got bitten, waited to make sure he was okay, and only then did Savage agree to film the segment. During the actual taping, the cobra clamped onto Savage’s arm much longer than expected, drawing real blood.
