Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine and Fisher House have supported countless service personnel, veterans and their families through some of the hardest moments of their lives. It’s where so many receive world-class rehabilitation, whilst their families are supported with free accommodation so they can stay close by. This week, The Duke of Sussex returned to Fisher House and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, meeting former Invictus Games competitors, families and the remarkable staff who have been part of so many recovery journeys. Among them was Josh Boggi, who returned to Ward 412 at Queen Elizabeth Hosptial to be reunited for the first time with the nurse he credits with saving his life after he suffered his injury whilst deployed in Afghanistan.
