Yemen’s Houthis say they launched missiles and drones at Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport, calling it retaliation for airstrikes on Sanaa's airport on Monday.
A military spokesman for the Iran-aligned Houthi movement, which controls northern Yemen, called the attacks "blatant aggression."
"In response to this criminal Saudi aggression, the Yemeni (Houthi) Armed Forces carried out a significant military operation targeting Abha International Airport with a number of ballistic missiles and drones," he said. "The operation successfully achieved its objectives."
The strikes are the first claimed by the Houthis against the kingdom since an informal truce took effect in 2022.
