At least 12,000 students and faculty members trapped in flood-hit buildings in Guigang, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, had been evacuated by Thursday with the help of emergency powered pontoon bridges.⁣ ⁣ Torrential rains triggered by Typhoon Maysak have caused severe flooding in parts of the city since Monday.⁣ ⁣ Each pontoon bridge has a load capacity of more than 60 tons and can transport up to 500 people in a single trip.
