Two drones were deployed from Guangdong to flood-hit areas in Hengzhou City, Guangxi, on Monday to help restore mobile communications.⁣ ⁣ Torrential rains triggered by Typhoon Maysak led to severe flooding in south China's Guangxi, knocking out power and communications in parts of Hengzhou.⁣ ⁣ The two Wing Loong unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), equipped with onboard mobile base stations, can provide phone coverage within a radius of more than 50 kilometers, enabling stranded residents to contact their families and send emergency distress calls.⁣ ⁣ The Wing Loong is a dual-use drone platform designed for both civilian and military applications.
