“Come on, Auntie, don't you want to run a marathon?”
That one question from her nephew Liam changed everything for Tricia Jackson.
Liam had just run the Chicago Marathon for Team Reeve in honor of his father, Chad “Choggy” Larivee, who lives with a C4 spinal cord injury. Tricia was there cheering him on, certain that running a marathon herself was out of the question.
Her famous last words? “There's no way in heck I'm running a marathon.” By the end of the day, she had changed her mind.
Tricia went on to join Team Reeve's 2026 Boston Marathon team and helped raise nearly $22,000 to support progress for the SCI community.
“I've never done anything like this in my life. I'm doing it by myself, but I'm doing it for so much more.”
