adult science camp! (i touched grass) đ
no really, itâs kind of silly. a bunch of grown adults in the woods (one of them a literal astronaut btw) all quietly relearning how to look at the physical world.
i make things on screens all day, and somewhere along the way i convinced myself the screen was the world. then i spent three days laying leaves on paper to print their shadows in sunlight, watching fish grow vegetables, sorting out fungi, and i havenât stopped thinking about it since.
your brain only really stores what it pays attention to. novelty is what makes time feel long (and itâs why childhood summers felt endless and last year is a blur). so when we stop looking or noticing, weâre not just missing the tree. weâre quietly deleting our own life, one un-noticed day at a time.
âtouch grassâ isnât an insult. itâs a reminder that youâre not a simulation and that paying attention might be the closest thing we have to slowing time down.
10/10, would leave my apartment again.
