As data centers expand to meet rising demand from artificial intelligence, communities are seeing familiar concerns grow with them — including noise, energy use, taxes, water consumption and heat generation.
KSL reviewed several Utah data centers and compared local impacts with those seen in northern Virginia, the largest data‑center hub in the country. The review found that many of the same challenges emerging in Virginia are beginning to surface in Utah as facilities scale up.
