Our Youth Leadership members are getting ready for Lummis Day this weekend, the annual festival of Northeast Los Angeles, where they will be volunteering and participating in a number of activities! They recently had the special opportunity to meet with Suzanne Lummis, a local northeast LA poet and the granddaughter of Charles F. Lummis! Ms. Lummis shared about her educational background and career path, historical facts about poet T.S. Eliot, Shakespeare and even performed a reading of her poem “The Perfect Man”. Thank you, Suzanne, for inspiring our youth, and to Lummis Days organizers for providing this enriching festival to the community.
