March is Brain Injury Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness for Minnesotans living with brain injury. Traumatic brain injuries are more common than many people realize, and they can happen to anyone. Recovering from a traumatic brain injury looks different for each person. People may experience effects for years after the event and may even develop new symptoms years later. With the right resources, accommodations, and supports, people with traumatic brain injuries can thrive at school, work, and home. The Minnesota Department of Health partners with the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance/Minnesota Stroke Association to help individuals and families get the support they need.
