During #SafeDrinkingWaterWeek, we wanted to take a moment to recognize our 2024 Source Water Protection Award Winners: Vergas & Waconia! Every year, MDH and the Minnesota Rural Water Association jointly recognize public water systems who demonstrate outstanding commitment to protecting their drinking water source. This year, the city of Waconia was recognized for its efforts in well sealing, public outreach, and data collection. The city of Vergas stood out for their community education campaign, well sealing, and emergency preparedness.
