The I-35W Bridge along with the Lowry Bridge in Minneapolis will be illuminated tonight in honor of Infant Safe Sleep Week. Each year, approximately 50 Minnesota babies die suddenly and unexpectedly before celebrating their first birthday. Most of these deaths happen in an unsafe sleep environment. Governor Tim Walz has declared Nov. 12-18 Infant Safe Sleep Week, an opportunity to raise awareness around safer sleep practices for babies.
