According to the CDC, Black women are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women. Too often, Black women have been dismissed when they reported experiencing pain from pregnancy or birth complications. Black women also experience systemic barriers which reduce their access to quality healthcare. To improve health outcomes for Black pregnant women and new mothers, we have partnered with the University of Minnesota's Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity (CARHE) to develop the Dignity in Pregnancy and Childbirth course.
