Sometimes babies can cry for hours at a time and there's nothing you can do to soothe them. This inconsolable crying is normal during the first five months of a baby's life. It's called the Period of
#PURPLEcrying.
The crying starts at two weeks of age and peaks around two months. The good news is that the Period of PURPLE Crying will end at around 4-5 months. Never use shaking to stop crying. Shaking a baby can cause serious and permanent injury. If you think there is something wrong that is causing the crying, please visit your baby's healthcare provider.
