What helped you the most when you started breastfeeding? Here are some tips from our staff to get you off to a good start! #WBW2018 1. Find a supportive moms group to attend in-person after the baby arrives to connect and ask questions. While online social media groups can be helpful, they don’t have that personal mom-to-mom connection. 2. Attend prenatal classes on breastfeeding, baby care, etc. so you have a better idea of what to expect. 3. Need baby shower gift ideas? Food for mama! Things like freezer meals, healthy snacks and a meal drop-off plan for the first 8 weeks or so are super helpful. 4. Take care of yourself! Try to do one activity a day to get out the house. 5. Look into your workplace setting before maternity leave to find out about breastfeeding policies and places to pump. Ask other moms, too, to learn what they did and how it worked.
