Did you know there are two phases of tuberculosis (TB) disease? They are latent TB infection and active TB disease. Latent TB infection is when a person has TB germs in their body, but the germs are sleeping or not active. People with latent TB infection don't have symptoms and can't spread TB to others. Active TB disease is when a person has TB germs in their body and the germs are awake or active. People with active TB disease have symptoms and can spread TB to others. Both latent TB infection and active TB disease can be treated and cured with medication. #WorldTBDay
