Did you know that loons are swimming and diving birds? Unlike most birds who have air filled bones, loons have unique dense bones that are designed to help them dive deep underwater to catch fish. Here are a few fun facts about our state bird: 🪶 Loons’ iconic red eyes change with the seasons!
