Luverne Veterans Home Resident Keith welcomed a special guest for Earth Day. His son, Dean, joined Residents and staff to share his knowledge of beekeeping. Dean, who lives nearby, gave an inside look at how hives are managed and how they’ve fared over the past year. Despite high humidity impacting last fall’s harvest, his five hives still produced 18 gallons of honey. It was a great opportunity to learn about the important role bees play and how our flowering trees may be helping along the way.
