Preston is the only city in Minnesota home to both a State Veterans Home and a State Veterans Cemetery—and our community continues to show incredible support for the Veterans we serve. Recently, two generous donors made significant contributions to benefit both locations. The Kaye D. Nelson Trust donated $20,000 to support Recreation Therapy programming at the Preston Veterans Home and $10,000 for equipment to assist with the ongoing care and beautification of the Preston State Veterans Cemetery. An additional donor, who wished to remain anonymous, contributed $13,750 to both the Home and the Cemetery. These funds will enhance Veterans’ quality of life through recreational supplies, outdoor seating, personal care items and equipment to support the Cemetery grounds.
